✔️ Dosage & Administration of Ketosteril Tablet

• The medicine is taken orally during meals. Tablets must be swallowed whole while drinking with a sufficient amount of liquid - this is how they are best absorbed and included in the metabolic processes.
• The dosage of the drug is prescribed in accordance with the weight of the patient at the rate of 1 tablet per 5 kg per day. The daily dose is divided into 3-4 doses. The average daily dose for an adult is 12 to 24 tablets.
  Instruction on Ketosteril suggests that the treatment course be carried out throughout the period of the decrease in glomerular filtration below 25 ml/min. • Aluminum hydroxide (a medicine used to treat acidity)

Ketosteril should not be used at the same time:

• With calcium preparations - this can lead to hypercalcemia;
• With preparations that form hardly soluble compounds with calcium - antibiotics of the tetracycline group, antibiotics of the quinolone group, and drugs containing iron, estramustine, and fluorine; between taking these drugs and Ketosteril should be a minimum of two hours.

When the condition improves against the background of Ketosteril administration, in order that the acid-base balance does not break, gradually reduce the dose of aluminum hydroxide, which was prescribed in acidosis (shifting the acid-base balance of the body towards increasing acidity).
